At Chezonelle we feel strongly about the cause to end poverty around the world. As a result of this we pledge to donate a percentage of our profits to support the global action against poverty.
The gap between the world's rich and poor has never been wider. Malnutrition, disease, conflict and illiteracy, are a daily reality for millions. But it isn't chance or bad luck that keeps people trapped in bitter, unrelenting poverty. It's man-made factors like an unjust global trade system, a debt burden so great that it suffocates any chance of recovery and insufficient and ineffective aid.
Poverty is therefore the most preventable cause of death in our world. Trade and education are the cornerstones of the fight against it.
The white band is the common symbol of the global fight to end poverty. It was agreed as a worldwide symbol by the Global Call to Action against Poverty, the world's largest ever anti-poverty movement, with organizations representing more than 150 million people in over 80 countries.
